Toshiba Z830 (Z835) ultrabook teardown.
Spacebar button on the native keyboard of my notebook is working nasty - I have to press hard, otherwise it does not feel the touch. I was even thinking about changing the whole keyboard, but decided to disassemble the notebook just to look at. Moreover, there are almost no information in the internet - the closest thing was discussed in the notebookreview.com forum, but no details were given regarding the keyboard removing.
The dis-assembly. The first stage is the removing of the case - it is easy and is covered on youtube video. One must remove SD and many screws (brightened on the photos).

Then battery is to be removed and all connectors are to be released.

One should not try to disconnect the monitor - it is tricky. Small wires may be easily damaged.
Removal of the CPU cooler and wireless board:

The board holding the notoriously unreliable USB 3.0 is to be unscrewed
The notebook is disassembled!
It is peculiar, that it is impossible to remove the keyboard by pushing it inwards - the case is solid and there are no gaps in the keyboard holder. However, if one wants to remove the keyboard, it is possible to do. The keyboard is glued using two-sided tape (transparent, but visible). Just put tiny screwdriver between the case and the keyboard to disconnect (un-glue) the keyboard from within. Also there is a transparent film covering the case from- it must be lest. The case is conductive, so removing (and forgetting to put it back) the insulating film may damage the notebook.
But I did not have any spare keyboards, so I continued overhauling. The next operation IS DESTRUCTIVE - you cannot undo it! I peeled off the grey board covering the space between the keys. It is held by several welded-in plastic rods. In order to remove the cover, these nodes should be broken very slowly (at least I have not found any other better way).

I have removed the keys using brute force - study the construction.

The keys are held by tiny clamps. Small keys may be removed by moving them sideways and pulling. Ctrl-sized ones are to be moved sideways and pulled the close part. Spacebar have to be hooked by screwdriver - the first metal frame may be pulled out and the button may be pulled.

In order to fix the sensitivity issue (there was severe problem with space and minor one with left Ctrl), I glued small pieces of plastic under the buttons (smaller silicon knobs in the middle of the keys). 0.5 mm piece from PET bottle for space and few layers of scotch tape (0.2 mm) for Ctrl. I tried thicker stuff, but the keys were over-sensitive and they were hardly moving on pressing - so it is a matter of compromise.

The final touch is the correcting peeled-off black paint from the buttons sides. I just painted it with marker.

Gluing the grey board with double-sided tape:

Now it is time to assemble everything. The only tricky part is to place the cover - it should be started from the audio jack. I puled the jack few mm upwards, pushed a screwdriver into the jack and centered it in the cover hole. It clicked and only few screws were left to place.
